These are a group of medicines that work by stimulating the immune system or increasing the activity of one of the components of the immune system. They are used in the treatment of immunodeficiency and chemotherapy-induced bone marrow suppression (decreased production of immune cells). Some medicines of this group modify the activity of the immune system and are used to treat certain autoimmune diseases.
