This group contains medicines that are man-made versions of hormones produced by the thyroid gland. They are prescribed for the treatment of hypothyroidism (when the thyroid gland doesn’t produce a sufficient amount of thyroid hormones). This helps to relieve the symptoms of hypothyroidism.
