Ston 1 Syrup contains Magnesium citrate, and Potassium citrate as main active ingredients.
Role of active ingredients: Potassium citrate increases urinary citrate principally by modifying the renal handling of citrate, rather than by increasing the filtered load of citrate. The changes induced by potassium citrate tablets produce a urine that is less conducive to the crystallization of stone-forming salts (calcium oxalate, calcium phosphate and uric acid). Potassium citrate also inhibits the spontaneous nucleation of calcium oxalate and calcium phosphate (brushite). Magnesium citrate inhibits the formation of calcium-oxalate crystals in the urine.
