Methergin Tablet is a medicine used to control bleeding from the uterus, that may occur after childbirth or an abortion. It works on the smooth muscle of the uterus and increases tone, rate, and amplitude of contractions thus reduces blood loss.

Should Methergin Tablet be taken with or without food?
Take Methergin Tablet orally with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually 3 to 4 times daily for up to 1 week after delivery. Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Always follow your doctor's advice while taking Methergin Tablet.
Who should not take Methergin Tablet?
Methergin Tablet should not be taken by individuals who have a history of high blood pressure, heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, or a history of seizures. It should also not be taken by pregnant women, as it can cause contractions of the uterus.
Can Methergin Tablet be used during breastfeeding?
Methergin Tablet can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing infant. It is recommended to wait at least 12 hours after taking Methergin Tablet before breastfeeding.
Does Methergin Tablet increase blood pressure?
Yes, one of the most common adverse effects of Methergin Tablet is hypertension along with seizure. Seek immediate medical help in such a case.
