MRI Brain With Contrast near me in Chennai
MRI Brain with contrast is a method based on magnetic field and radio waves to create images of brain and brain stem. It is a non-invasive, painless method used to visualize detailed structure of brain and its parts. MRI with contrast, also called as CE MRI (Contrast enhanced MRI), uses gadolinium based contrast agents to visualize certain parts of brain more clearly than a plain MRI. It is recommended by doctors especially to assess tumors in brain. It creates better images than MRI and can be used to locate the smallest tumor.
The contrast agent is generally considered harmless. It is given intravenously before the scan. Occasional cases of reaction to contrast agent can be seen.
Pregnant women and kidney patients are not recommended to undergo this investigation.
