Understanding High Sensitive Troponin-I, Quantitative
What is High Sensitive Troponin-I, Quantitative?
High Sensitive Troponin-I, Quantitative test is a very-sensitive blood test which helps detect even the low levels of troponin-I protein. This protein is released in the blood when there is damage (injury) to the heart and its levels typically begin to increase within 2 to 3 hours after the onset of a heart attack. This test is usually performed when an individual experiences chest pain, arm pain, discomfort, or shortness of breath. This test may help detect heart damage at an early stage and other heart diseases such as congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, or angina. Additionally, this test helps to monitor the treatment response in individuals with a history of heart disease.
