Know more about this test
CT (Computed Tomography) of the pelvis is an imaging test of the lower abdomen and pelvis used to diagnose the ailments of the small bowel, colon and other internal organs. This test determines the following ailments: appendicitis, Crohn’s disease, liver/kidney cancer, kidney/bladder stones, ulcerative colitis and abdominal aortic aneurysms.
In this test, the patient is made to wear loose, comfortable clothes, asked to remove all metallic items like jewellery, gadgets, etc., and lie on a table. The doctor from a different room, by remote control, makes the table go through the CT scan machine several times till the imaging of the pelvis is done thoroughly. This test may carry some risks to people with kidney damage or heart ailments.
