What is Anti Soluble Liver Antigen in Bhopal?
Anti-Soluble liver antigen (SLA) is a type of antibody found in patients suffering from hepatitis, an auto-immune disease. It is an ELISA-based in vitro test system for the qualitative determination of IgG antibodies against SLA in human serum. The anti-soluble liver antigen is detected in roughly one-third of the patients suffering from type 1 auto-immune hepatitis (AIH) but not in those suffering from type 2 AIH, primary sclerosing cholangitis or primary binary cirrhosis.
The anti-SLA test is done by a simple blood sample test and then sent for diagnosis. The reference range of anti-SLA negative is 0.0-20.0 U, Equivocal 20.1-24.9 U and positive is >25.0 U.
