How Tuscold Syrup works
Tuscold Syrup contains four active ingredients. These include paracetamol, chlorpheniramine maleate, phenylephrine, and zinc gluconate. Together these ingredients help relieve the symptoms of a cold. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever. Chlorpheniramine maleate is an anti-allergic medicine that relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant that narrows the small blood vessels, providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Zinc gluconate releases zinc ions in the body which prevents the multiplication of infection-causing microorganisms by modulating the body’s immune system.
