Eflornithine stops the activity of a chemical involved in the production of hair on the face.

Expert advice for Eflornithine

  • Eflornithine should be applied twice a day over the affected area. 
  • Before each application, wash the affected area with soap and water and dry well. 
  • Maintain a gap of at least 8 hours between each application and avoid face washing for a period of 4 hours after application.
  • Avoid getting it in the eyes, mouth or nose. Rinse with cold water if you accidentally get it in these areas.
  • Consult your doctor if your skin condition has not improved after 4 months of treatment.
  • Do not stop using the medicine without talking to your doctor as it can resume hair growth.
